SHOW SCHEDULE -----------------------------------------

For those of you who actually mark your calendars in a futile attempt to understand what "every other week means" on Planet VKR, here are some dates you can pencil in for future shows (all are Thursdays from 6pm-8pm).

Marc Breslav's "Radio Eclectica" and Peter Clark's "Orphanage of Rock and Roll" alternate weeks... well, kind of.

10/16 Clark
10/23 Marc
10/30 Clark

11/6 Clark
11/13 Clark (um, yeah, that's three weeks in a row)
11/20 Marc
11/27 We're both off on Thanksgiving

12/4 Marc
12/11 Clark (just one show in December)
12/18 Marc
12/25 We're both off on Christmas

1/1 Clark
1/8 Marc
1/15 Marc
1/22 Clark
1/29 Marc

That's every other week, right? :-) Be sure to use a pencil (or cheap erasable lipstick on your bathroom mirror). Dates are, as always, subject to change.

Thanks for listening, or attempting to listen.

Pete

WVKR Pledge Drive

Just a quick note to ask *you* to help *me* with my request for a change.

As you know, I share the Thursday 6pm slot alternating weeks with Radio Eclectica. On Thursday, 9/11, Marc Breslav will be doing the show during WVKR Pledge Drive week. He'll be asking for your help raising money, and this year we're hoping to use a good portion of the funds raised to help preserve and safely store the LPs in the WVK-aRchives.

The vinyl collection is very dear to our hearts, and the station is in dire need of better storage for this unique history of pop culture. Marc has devoted many hours of his personal time to measuring the available space, researching alternatives, and contacting contractors for quotes to build the proper storage for our treasured archive. When Marc asks for your pledge on 9/11, please be as generous as possible within your means.

Unlike other non-commercial radio stations, we only do one pledge drive each year, and your generosity is always greatly appreciated. WVKR is a very unique radio station. As much as our community relies on us to provide an alternate to commercial radio, we in turn rely on our community to help us continue to provide the diverse programming for which WVKR has become famous. I've done the pledge drive show the past two years, and I'm both amazed and grateful for the outpouring of support our friends and neighbors offer.

This year, the Pledge Drive falls on Marc's week, and I hope you'll be as helpful with our quest during his show as you have been during mine. Thank you in advance for your generosity and continuing friendship.

Pete
