I gotta say right off the bat, I'm not a fan of "theme" shows. They always look good on paper, but often they're not much fun to listen to. Too many varied musical styles--music is an AUDIAL medium, isn't it?--that do nothing but show off how clever the DJ can be.
Leave it to Peter Clark to take a theme and run with it and have it do nothing but bring smiles and sonic bliss to the listener's ear.
With very few exceptions ("Nothing From Nothing" comes to mind(, the music was rare enough as to be thoroughly enjoyable and even moreso FIT with The Orphanage format.
Plus the subject matter was SO topical--whose mind WASN'T on the economy? The show was a nice way to vent. Great listening! Too bad more people didn't know PC was on this special Wednesday. Will sure look forward to this Thursday's show!
